Really wonderful accommodations and friendly, kind host that makes you feel right at home. Beautiful home and large room with powerful a/c and an incredible breakfast every morning. This is my home away from home in Jaffna from now on.

Allen, as mentioned over and over in other reviews, is the best host EVER. This kind of people makes the difference when traveling like we do, where the main goal is to enjoy the culture and people, as much as the places we visit. Allen went way beyond expectations on helping us with whatever we may need (from train schedules, arranging a great driver for a day-long tour, giving us recommendations for local places, to taking his bike and buying us some cold beers after hours, or getting up to prepare us an unusually early morning breakfast to go, due to our very early schedule), overall making us feel like his true guests despite the commercial relationship. Well-travelled, Jaffna-native but with many years in Europe, Allen is the kind of person that you hope you have more time to get to know better, and that will remain as a highlight of any trip. The property is his own home, where you rent some rooms. It is a very quiet spot in a green and shady compound in a cul-de-sac, a great respite from some of the Jaffna frenzy. Located a quick 5-min. tuk-tuk ride from the train station, it is also near the main Hindu temple of the city, a couple of blocks away. The room we rented had its own exclusive bathroom, but crossing the living room. There was another room with a full private bathroom, not available at the time. The house has a quaint feeling, very cozy and clean. The AC in the room worked fine and it was very welcomed. Breakfast was great, abundant and tasty, prepared by Allen on the spot.

Great rooms, service, grea, great food in the restaurant, crab curry. Very authentic, quiet, relaxing place in bustling city. I think it’s the best place to stay in Jaffna.

I booked this place for my parents and they loved their stay at Berty’s cottage. The owners handled everything easily and the meals were arranged well. They even arranged a tuk tuk for my parents for a reasonable price to go everywhere in Jaffna. My parents were more than satisfied.

Very clean, modern house and the family is very nice and super friendly. They made you feel welcome and helped with finding my way around Jaffna by letting me know bus times etc to go to Nainathive. Shared some puja food as well and it was a great experience. They also made sure that tea is available before I left even though it was super early morning. Thank you very much for your hospitality and would love to come back!

It was a nice guest house in a central location. The owner was great. Large rooms . Comfortable beds. Bathroom was clean too. The owner accommodated our breakfast request.

D'Villa Garden House has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Jaffna, 2.8 km from Nallur Kandaswamy Temple. Raj’s place is an excellent base for a few days in Jaffna. Raj is an outstanding host—very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The rooms are simple, clean, and have great air conditioning. They also include a hot shower with excellent water pressure. The location is a five-minute walk to a few local restaurants or about a 25-minute walk (or a short drive) to Jaffna town. The place is a lovely, relaxing, and peaceful spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast is available for an additional 900 LKR per person. The breakfast is excellent—a very generous spread of authentic cuisine that changes daily. We thoroughly enjoyed Raj’s hospitality and would definitely return if we’re in Jaffna again.

Nallur Holidays Inn in Jaffna provides adults-only accommodation with an open-air bath and a shared lounge. This guest house features free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Very decent hotel, clean and tidy. Clean and fragrant towels and bedding. Shared bathroom and toilet also clean. Lots of common space that you can use - on the ground floor, on the first floor and on the terrace. There is also a fridge and kitchenette (stove, sink, some dishes and cutlery). But the most charming thing about our stay in this hotel was the staff - friendly but not intrusive. Wonderful, warm, communicative and helpful girls (best regards!). 💚 I recommend this place with pleasure.
