Modern renovation- Tasteful finishes, bright and comfortable. We loved our room under the roof with a skylight and views of the Barolo castle and vineyards. (Stairs might be an issue for some guests but the staff is always available to help with baggage.) With all the good meals we had, we were very happy with a little extra exercise! We found the location in the town easy to access by foot with roll aboard luggage from public parking areas. Much of the town, like medieval towns all over Italy, is pedestrians only. And very quiet at night. Lovely breakfast. Merits 5 stars for service from Ariele and the lady of the house! They are happy to provide any information about the Barolo area, from restaurants to wine tastings. Highly recommend!

At the inn, every room comes with a balcony. At IL CANTUN each room has a private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer. Il Cantun was outstanding. Our flight was cancelled due to airport strikes which meant we got to the property really late. The owners could not have been more helpful and accommodating and stayed up as late as it took to let us in with such a warm welcome. The hotel is in a beautiful old building looking out onto the square, but the rooms are so modern with amazing interior design and a large bath that we didn’t get a chance to use. The breakfast was also lovely, with savoury and sweet treats. Would highly recommend and wish we could have stayed longer!

The bed and breakfast has family rooms. We had the more amazing stay at miello. Erica and Fausto was incredible kind and nice. Since they was born and rised in the area, they gave us really good recommendations upon where to eat and visit. The room was newly renovated and very clean, crisp bed linens and towels. If you plan too stay in the area, I truly recommend Miello.

What made my time here exceptional, though, was Paola. She was an outstanding host — warm, thoughtful, and always ready to help with local tips, restaurant recommendations, and hidden gems that only a local would know. She made me feel not just like a guest, but like part of the family. From exploring the rolling vineyards to enjoying the charm of Monforte’s little streets, every moment was perfect.
