We had a truly unforgettable romantic getaway at this jungle retreat! The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and blended seamlessly with nature, offering a cozy and intimate atmosphere with all the amenities we needed. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of the jungle—perfect for enjoying quiet moments together. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring a wonderful variety of fresh, local options amidst the tranquil jungle setting. Overall, it was an amazing experience and the perfect escape for a romantic retreat.

Fellow travelers, this is an absolute bargain, trust me! Pedro is as nice as a host can be, always paying attention to the details so that we had the best experience we could. The accommodation, although not in the centre of Waisai, is not far and the porch has outstanding views of the bay. Moreover, the bed is comfortable and big, the bathroom is well equipped and the AC brings a luxurious touch compared to some of the other guest houses. In terms of the food, they serve both breakfast and dinner included in the price and they're both varied and delicious. If you want to have a beer watching the sunset, you can also buy them directly from Pedro. Finally, he rents motorbikes and happens to know all the necessary people to make the experience of Waisai truly complete. To sum up, this place exceeded our expectations and we feel that it will be much busier once more reviews will pop up, as he only opened it in August 2025.

Paparisa is a brand new, small, private and secluded homestay with the nicest houses in Kri Island by far (compared to all the other homestays). The place has five "resort level" cosy houses with ensuite semi-open air bathroom (rare in Raja Ampat), big nice comfortable beds with mosquito net, a small private terrace in each house to relax or to watch the sunset and a small restaurant to enjoy your meals (they are building a nice sunset view big restaurant which they said will be ready by September 2025). They provide towels, toilet paper and linen so no need to bring yours. They have some toiletries but better bring some extra shampoo and shower gel for your convenience. Electricity is available almost half of the day and it is more than enough to charge anything in your room! The sea is just three meters from your door so you can easily swim whenever you want. This is also very convenient for diving or excursion's pickups as the boats pick you up straight from your door to go for diving or for a trip! Also, in walking distance you can snorkel in very amazing home reefs on your own. Paparisa rents for a small amount of money snorkeling equipment and these guys can also arrange several snorkeling trips to anywhere in the area. They also have contacts around so don't hesitate to ask them for anything you need! The communication before arrival through WhatsApp was exceptional and they have helped us a lot with our planning (the boat from Waisai to Kri arranged by them and a lot more). The food in the place is very tasty and feels like home and they are willing to cater any special dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan etc).

New & very clean. Great view of the sea from on high. Nice deck to sit at. Steven, a staff member, helps with whatever you need. The drink water has a hot & cold spigot. Cold water a treat in the tropics.

I went diving for three days on the Pulau Gam and snorkeled daily on Friwen. They are about a 10 mins boat ride. The Homestay is rustic. There are two beds covered with mosquito net. They are totally fine but somehow one would get in every night. It’s an island at the equator, there are mosquitoes. Also geckos! That’s part of the adventure. The room has an interior slide lock and there’s a clipping lock with a key for locking when you’re away. Honestly I never locked my place. The island seems very safe. Kids playing, most of the folks on the island are involved in tourism, though they don’t speak much English. It wasn’t an issue. I traveled solo and spent most afternoons in the hammock, reading, writing or napping. The food was amazing, delicious, the cook is very sweet and calls you to breakfast, lunch and dinner. The fresh fish is caught daily. Vegetables and rice, very delicious and all included. Large quantities. Box lunches are available if you are diving all day. Bananas are snacks. Unlimited instant coffee, tea, hot water. The island is stunning. Sunsets amazing. The reef has more life to see while snorkeling than most places (Europe, Caribbean, US, Latin America) have to see while scuba diving! I saw turtles, squid, dolphins playing, reef sharks and millions of coral. A not about cash and other fees: you will need ~140,000 to take a ferry from Sorong to Waisai. Then you’ll need 600,000 to ride each way from Waisai to Friwen (this can be divided with others, provided there are other riders.). On Waisai, you’ll have to buy a Marine Park pass and an entry pass, in total 1,000,000. So you’ll need around 2,250,000 in cash (be prepared bc the pass can be purchased online, or card but sometimes their system is down and you have to pay cash). In Sorong airport there are four ATMs, most of them don’t work well. There are ATMs on Waisai but you have to ride a motorcycle to them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The homestay owner contactes us prior to our arrival to check if we were finding our way (they also offered a taxi pick-up at the harbour) and welcomed us with open arms. The homestay has a nice small garden where we had breakfast. The owners also helped us to arrange our taxi next morning

Not only did the accommodation exceed our expectations, our host also went above and beyond to ensure our stay in the area everything we wanted it to be. I can honestly say our time there wouldn’t have been half as good if it wasn’t for Husna, she knew all the right people across the region. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, so much so I wouldn’t bother searching for any other accommodation when I eventually return.

The view from the rooms was stunning! Aron, the owner, is a really kind and helpful guy, friendly and keen to help in anything you need. The food was good, and overall, the experience was wonderful. As a place in a remote island like this, you can't expect the best facilities but they were in good condition and clean. The bungalows, bathrooms, and dining area are well cared out and clean. There are nice spots around the island to watch the sunset and do snorkeling. They also offer great tours around the area.

Our stay at Amoryg Resort in Mansuar was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The location is stunning, but what truly made our experience exceptional was the amazing service we received from the entire team. A special thank you to Ramdhan for his attentiveness and warm hospitality, he made us feel at home every single day. Oyen impressed us with his snorkeling guidance and caring attitude, every outing was magical thanks to him. Afri was always there with a smile, offering outstanding assistance at any hour, and his energy and kindness truly stood out. And Andy, with his friendly presence and helpful nature, made everything easier and more enjoyable. Every member of the team went above and beyond, and we left with unforgettable memories and full hearts. We’re already dreaming of coming back one day. Thank you for everything!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Gibran guesthouse located in Kri island. The ocean view rooms are just above water and you can just junp into the ocean from your porch ready to snorkel. The room and the common areas were clean The toilet is outside the room. The food is good and quantities are enough. They told us that in July they wikk do some renovation work in the rooms. The service was perfect and we did a couple of excursions with the team. They were very attentive with my 73 years old father. We recommend this Guesthouse. Thank you very much.
