The location was perfect and the journey was great, going through the Rio Negro it was very nice experience. The place was simple, cleaned and tidy. The reception was very nice with Lucas (we arrived a bit late but he was there) Raquel the employee of the Refúgio was very kind and friendly. What a fantastic time we had staying at the lodge. We hired a brilliant English speaking guide and a boat pilot for the week through the lodge (additional to the accommodation costs) and they organised an itinerary to tour the local area and beyond. The food was great and varied (beef/chicken/pork/fish etc), including local fish that we caught in the day. It was amazing to live in the riverside community if only for a week, and we hope to come back in the wet season when the water is higher and the landscape has changed.
