We decided to stay at this particular accommodation because we wanted to stay somewhere quieter than the hustle and bustle of Anuradhapura. In the end, this was a big surprise for us. The room, although relatively small, was very nice and spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom, which had hot water, which is not common in accommodation of this price in Sri Lanka. There is also a small refrigerator in the room. We enjoyed two delicious meals prepared for us by the very kind hosts at a very good price. Mihintale is beautiful and we visited some important places around there. The area around the accommodation was very beautiful and tidy and you could see many of its animals to play in the trees.

Janaka is THE host—truly exceptional in the hospitality scene in Sri Lanka. He is incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel completely at home, while also being highly professional and attentive to all our needs. He went out of his way to help us plan our days in Mihintale exactly as we wished—and what he managed to organize for us was no small feat! He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. Host were very nice, happy and helpful. Room is clean, comfortable with fantastic view on the Rice fields and jungle with sounds of animals. Breakfast was tasteful and nice.

Very hospitable and kind owner, helped us from the moment of booking and check-in. Also, thank you very much for accommodating us with a dog (this is rare) The family room is very spacious and equipped with everything you need, we even watched a movie via HDM cable. From the balcony we looked at the stars and enjoyed the evening, there is a refrigerator in the hotel, which also helped to preserve food and fruit. Everything went just great, we will definitely stay here again when we come! And there is also a small lake nearby, in which fish live (just like a house park)

The homestay was just like being at home so comfortable shared lounge and kitchen bonus we were there all by ourselves perfect, the family were so lovely food was awesome. We rented a tuktuk and went into the local town and spent time with the locals it was amazing we were the only tourists around recommend. Don't hesitate to stay here the family also did our laundry

We enjoyed our time at Sunhill Lake Tourist Rest. They are located right off of Kubichchankulama Lake with a walking path around the lake. The Hosts were very hospitable and gracious. The room was spacious and clean - good AC! They gave us access to a kettle in the kitchen for morning coffee.
