Cool pub in general to have a drink or dinner. Dinner was excellent! Outstanding was the very friendly and extremly helpful staff - one guy did his best to find out our onward connection by public transport and organised us a taxi - many thanks to him and the other friendly members of the staff:) the room was comfortable and had everything we needed!

Very clean, well kept and maintained. Lovely sizeable room and bathroom! The owner was super friendly and helpful and available when ever we needed help and information. It’s an easy, pleasant walk downhill into town. It felt safe even late at night.

The attention to detail here is off-the-scale good. Everything is absolutely faultless. It is one of the most exceptional places I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in many top-notch hotels. What they offer here is luxury with lots of special touches and treats. They make you feel very special and the rooms, service and massive breakfast hamper are outstanding. If you eat at any of their three restaurants (fabulous!), they can book it for you and you are treated as special guests. Honestly a faultless hospitality product that I have not seen elsewhere.

We loved every minute of our stay. The owner is extremely nice and welcoming. He taught us a lot of interesting facts about Cornwall and the haunted Bodmin Jail close by. The room was clean, comfy and very cozy. It had a bed, a large wardrobe, extra pillows, a hairdryer, a whole collection of tea or coffee, a mini fridge and a few personal, thoughtful and beautiful small gifts! Pumpkin the cute black cat was another great highlight there with a lot of personality.
