The owners, Paulo & Ana are phenomenal hosts, they made us feel so welcome and went out of their way to ensure we had the best stay. The location could not be better. The housekeeper, Beatrice was around all day every day cleaning and tidying which is exactly what you want on holiday. There is also round the clock security on the property. The villa is luxurious, modern, beautifully decorated and well equipped. We loved everything it.

The sound of the ocean 24h! The view! The atmosphere! The swimming pool! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The staff was great and polite. We have stayed for three nights here and it was definitely too short. Huge advantage of the ocean view villas is no mosquito due to wind.

Very clean, beautiful and excellently situated beach house right on the beach. Walking distance to the local market (2min walk) and the best restaurants in Tofo just 5 min walk away. Quite area, with great views and fast WiFi internet. This has really felt like home from home, fully equipped and the host, Elias had gone out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Anastasia was also very friendly and super supportive as well as the security guard which was present every evening of our stay - very very safe area and it was comforting to know that whatever is left outside during the night was safe and secure. This place is without doubt the best accommodation in Tofo beach and HIGHLY recommended!

Simply the most incredible place we've ever stayed!! We spent a week in the Garden Cottage and absolutely did not want to leave...but we'll certainly be back! Everything about the cottage is perfect, lovingly decorated with lots of little touches and beautiful local art. The kitchen has everything you need to self cater, but there are plenty of great restaurants nearby and in the main town area (10-15 mins walk). I have to make a special mention of the bed - I don't think my partner and I have ever agreed on a mattress but this one was just right (soft enough for me, firm enough for him) and having a king size was a great bonus. The outside areas of the cottage are utterly charming - the outdoor bathroom is beautiful and we loved the feeling of showering in a little forest. The main garden area was a favourite spot and I spent a couple days working from the table and sofa there, plus a couple more reading in the hammock. There's strong, reliable internet throughout and I was able to work and have calls no problem. The beach is just a few steps away down a garden path, and there are a couple of little beach huts set aside for use by guests. It's a quiet part of the beach, but even so the beach huts are set back enough that they feel very private. The honestly car on site was super useful to pick up shopping and explore the area a bit more. Dave is a superb host and really has thought of everything! Be sure to ask him for tips on getting to Tofo Beach before you book transport.

Location, Location, Location! The beach is just a few metres away, allowing you to jump into the Indian Ocean whenever you like without the hassles that occur once you are even just a few hundred metres away. It's ideal for children: a shallow entrance and smooth waves. Special thanks to Wanette and Shawn, the managers of the lodge. Everything was expertly managed plus their advice and support in booking activities in the area was invaluable. From snorkelling to see seahorses and hundreds of sea stars, to collecting pansy shells or doing a quad-bike tour into the area or going whale shark viewing. I can highly recommend venturing out. The chalets themselves are not new but well maintained. We bought fresh Portuguese rolls from the locals every morning and also amazing tiger prawns for the braai. They were very friendly and I recommend supporting them. Alternatively there are two restaurant options in walking distance just along the beach. Green Turtle is pricey/upmarket, but don't we all need some spoils during our vacation? Overall we had a great time in Barra!
