Beautiful and spacious (looks just like the pictures) and very centrally located. The self made breakfast was also a really nice touch :)

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Alte Bäckerei Königstein Aparthotel und Café provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. Location was perfect. The staff was exceptional and went above and beyond for us. Short walk from train station and the walking track up to the fortress is just across the road. Breakfast was excellent too. Boasting a garden and views of inner courtyard, Schloss Kobershain is an aparthotel set in a historic building in Schildau, 46 km from Central Station Leipzig. The host is totally amazing, we were enormously happy to be his guests. The interior of the property is just exceptional, like in real castle or something resembling it. After visiting lots of castles and museums with my family it was a great pleasure to spend coulple of the nights in a "museum" where you are not only allowed to touch the things around but also to have everything at your disposal. The location is also great for anybody looking for some rural and quiet surrounding with fields and plum trees around. Highly recommend the place.

Bergoase Panorama-Apartments offers a sauna and free private parking, and is within 13 km of Saxon Switzerland National Park and 14 km of Königstein Fortress. After arriving on the night train and riding up into the hills on hired mountain bikes to get here, we were able to check in early which was a blessed relief! (Note - The route that Google maps gave us on our bikes went off-road, and we had to walk part of the way uphill as it was too steep to ride the mountain trail, especially with our backpacks. You can also catch a local bus to the village to get here). The apartment was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The kids spent most of their time outside roaming up the hiking paths or riding their bikes up and down the hilly streets in the quiet village. This accommodation is on the edge of the village near the top of a hill and the view is lovely out towards the forests and mountains. We came in early spring and the trees were just starting to green up so I can see it would be even more spectacular in late spring and through summer and autumn. There were probably a dozen or so campers at all stages of life using the grounds with their tents and vans, as well as others staying in apartments, and it was peaceful with a feeling of camaraderie, no loud voices or music, just people chilling and a few kids roaming around doing kid stuff. This village and accommodation was a big contrast to Bad Schandau, which was literally crawling with cars and tourists (we were there over the Easter long weekend), and we were so glad we had not stayed in town but on this calming and chill mountainside.
