Breakfast spread was simple but adequate. Staff at breakfast area were friendly and helpful. Location was a little further from town but well connected by bus, able to reach the old town/train station in about 20min. Overall, a comfortable stay at a good price (relative to other hotels).

Spacious, fully-equipped studio with a cosy hotel lobby downstairs, all in a quiet quarter with great eateries (check Klara 13 food market, pan-Asian Lily's Maxim, and Kitchen Focacceria) and lovely riverside walks. Also, close to a tram hub too with the old town across the river. You cannot go wrong with this one, seriously.

The BLISS Basel Residence is run by a very friendly and helpful Lebanese family. The same family also runs a Lebanese restaurant attached to the accommodation with delicious food that is also quite cheap for Switzerland. The owner is very friendly, attentive, accommodating and takes good care of his guests. The holiday apartments are equipped with everything you need. If something is missing or not in order, the owner will take care of it and remedy the situation or offer another solution. The apartments are spotless clean, cozy and the beds are very comfortable. We felt very comfortable. By paying the tourist tax you receive a ticket that entitles you to unlimited use of public transport in Basel and the entire Northwest Switzerland tariff association, so you can also get to Basel Airport with it.

The biggest asset for these apartments is Maria the manager. This is someone who goes out of her way to ensure you have a good stay. She's efficient, friendly and kind. With huge parades in the old town on the day we were leaving, she realized that we wouldn't be able to get the taxi booked and even though it was her off day and the weekend, she arrived to escort us to a part outside of the old town and organized transport for us. She really is a star. We really enjoyed our spacious, spotlessly clean and neat apartment with the balcony an added bonus. The location was so perfect in the old town, you could walk everywhere and we were surrounded by restaurants, bakeries and a grocery store. Very close to the Rathuis and market square.
