We had chosen this accommodation at the last minute because we were simply looking for a place to stay with a washing machine. We were totally amazed: a new, perfectly furnished tiny house awaited us. The owners must have put an incredible amount of work and thought into it, because the little house is not only beautiful, but also very functional. Everything you could wish for was there. The view of the pond and the nature was also wonderful, as well as the friendly hosts who made sure that all our wishes were fulfilled. In the end, this spontaneous decision led to one of the most beautiful nights on our trip.

The location was convenient and the breakfast view across the park from the dining table was relaxing.
The room was spotlessly clean and tidy, The room had a comfortable queen size bed, air-conditioning and new TV.
This room exceeded our expectations and sets a very high standard others could learn from.

It's the ideal getaway for a short vacation. There are numerous short walks and dining options. Henley Lake and the Millennium Reserve are particular favourites and for a longer trip Castlepoint is hard to beat.

We came for the annual plant sale associated with the Carterton market (https://www.cartertonmarket.co.nz/).
We stayed over 2 nights and Saturday ate at https://maps.app.goo.gl/vzu3LmPWonvvEFVx8 https://www.Balterbar.com. Excellent, friendly and quality food establishment. Easy to visit a range of things in the area from this base. We indulged at https://www.mrsblackwell.com/ Mrs Blackwell's bookshop in Greytown and https://pukaha.org.nz/ Pukaha National Wildlife Centre ..

We had a wonderful stay at the loft.
We had a wonderful stay at the loft. It was well resourced and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed. We sat out on the deck in the morning enjoying the breakfast provided. The host was so welcoming. We loved wine tasting and enjoying a yummy cheese platter at the tasting room sitting looking at the beautiful view. We loved our whole experience. Such a beautiful spot with a lovely host.

Lovely little town with lots of interesting things to do. Great shops, bookshop and ladies clothing well provided for. Swan Hotel for excellent food and service, as well as the lovely Indian restaurant. Loved the market, and bought beautiful 🍓 and plants. Such an accessible town. We walked everywhere and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.

We were just passing through to go to Martinborough, Lake Ferry and Cape Palliser the next day then on to Masterton. Visited a dear friend in Carterton and had dinner at their place so really didn't experience much of Carterton.

We visited Greytown to see the Longbush cottage tulip display which didn’t disappoint, the gift shops in the character buildings of the Main Street are always worth a look and there are many nice cafes to choose from, we ate at The Offering and Kokodeli and would definitely go back.

Our 2-night stay was about doing a day trip to Castlepoint which we achieved. Fabulous spot with lovely sandy beach. Can recommend stopping @ the local store for a feed of Blue Cod & chips. Couldn't have been fresher.
Delicious food @ Tripoli & CBK each evening. Coffee @ Strada was good too.
Queen Elizabeth Park is worth checking out. Weather not so good so didn't get to see enought of it or do any of the other walks.

Loved the setting and area so much that we stayed an extra night, not wanting to leave. Nice relaxing region, noticed a lot of shops opened later and closed earlier than other places, or only opened on certain days, which made it easier to relax and unwind.

Greytown is so close to many places of interest.
Greytown is so close to many places of interest. As a township it has everything required for a stay. Beautifully preserved in heritage style. Very friendly, helpful locals. The Cobblestone Museum is a must to see. Central to other interesting wee townships and a stunning scenic drive to Castlepoint which is a must see and explore. The best burgers at the local store. 😋 would love to return to visit everything we didn't have time for. I must say EXCELLENT restaurants and takeaways. Missed a laundromat but one in Martinborough, Carterton.
