Fukuoka (0.6 miles from Fukuoka Airport)
Attractively situated in the Hakata Ward district of Fukuoka, Enzo Fukuoka is situated 2.6 km from Higashi Hirao Park, 3 km from Tsuya Park and 3.1 km from Tokokita Park. The location is the best, just cross the road from domestic terminal. The building is beautiful. The room was nice and tidy. Very close to Lawson store or 15 mins walk to a big store. The host was super helpful and polite. Before staying here,i read many negative comments about this place. But after my staying ,i understand both ways.Their house ,their rules,if you can't accept it don't book it. (but i know that people want to check in earlier)
Shime (0.6 miles from Fukuoka Airport)
In the centre of Shime, located within a short distance of Level 5 Stadium, ラ・ポート空港前101 offers free WiFi, air conditioning and household amenities such as a stovetop and kettle. We liked that it was close to Fukuoka airport, got given very detailed instructions on how to get there and how to access the room etc. We appreciated the presence of a laundry machine and kitchen utensils, plates and bowls so we could cook and do our laundry. It was great for our 1 week stay before we flew out of the city. We had no car but it was manageable to lug our luggage from La Port to the Domestic side of the Airport by following the recommended route. Just be careful and mindful of the cars on the road.

It is really cute and bigger than I imagined BUT the INSECTS !! You're going to say ''yes It's normal, it's campaign'' alright I got it but EVEN IN THE FRIDGE 🤨!! (Check the photo) And don't be afraid of thieves, Gypsy and her friends are here to guard the door (yep a lot of web spiders !! 🙃) And the other tiny problem, the water in the bathroom is a escape game to control. If you failed either you gonna freeze 🥶 or experience hell 🥵

Extremely clean, well insulated, super comfortable beds/bedding and the facilities like shower, toilet and kitchen were in great condition. Was easy to find and get the key. It was a spacious unit too. Toiletries provided as well. Cupboard had space to put out suitcases out of the way. All the small details mean a lot. Was good to have easy access to the airport and not having to take multiple trains.
Hotel in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka ( 0.6 miles)
十二ホテル -福岡空港- is situated in the Hakata district in Fukuoka, 4 km from Shofuku-ji Temple and 4.1 km from Hakozaki Shrine. This is a beautiful hotel 1.3km from the airport subway, I don't mind a walk, so I found it really convenient to take day trips. Staff speak Japanese only, but google translate makes communication easier and they were very helpful. The larder filled with snacks and drinks was great. The bathing area in the room I had was bigger than a lot of the rooms I have stayed in Japan. Highly recommend if you don't need to be in middle of fukuoka.

We loved the Sumiyoshi area as it was relatively close to Hakata Station (15 minutes) and all its shops and restaurants. Not far to Tenjuin by train and more shops and train connections. We really enjoyed the cherry blossoms around Fukuoka and the lovely range of spring flowers, especially the tulips and emerging azaleas
Fukuoka has plenty to offer from food options (beyond yatai and ramen) and activities to do like bus tours, exploring malls and second-hand shops and even experiences like teamLab. The local and expressway buses and subway systems may seem a little intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it, they are pretty reliable with getting you from one point to another. Explore cafes around Ohori Park and around Tenjin for something less usual.
I was in Fukuoka for 7 days (4 days at the Nishitetsu Croom Kushida Shrine, and another 3 at the Mitsui Garden Nakasu—just for the experience of being at two chain hotels). The city is big but clean and well laid out, making using the GPS easy. I felt the population wasn’t all that crowded, compared with Tokyo. The center of transportation is the Hakata Station, big but manageable. Actually, on the very first day at Fukuoka Airport, I was confused of how to get an IC card at a machine but was helped by a very kind elderly lady (a volunteer) who spoke good English. She helped me get the card, told me where to go for the shuttle bus to the domestic terminal, and in fact followed me to the gate. Then, I took the subway (using the IC card) to Hakata Station and changed for another line to Geon but didn’t get the right line so ended up having to walk more than I should have. Later, a friend told me to take a taxi since it was quite reasonably priced but I ended up walking back and forth to Hakata Station most of the time since the first hotel wasn’t far at all. Outside of Fukuoka, a few friends and I also took the Shinkansen to Saga, a lovely little ancient village specializing in making ceramics—but try to get there early, eg, before 9 or 9.30, or else you might have trouble finding a parking like us who rented a Toyota from the Saga Station. Another city that we explored was Beppu, a much bigger place than Saga—with the 7 famous onsens, including mud ones which we didn’t try—too bad. I haven’t seen much of Fukuoka or Kyushu Island, so must get back there soon! I loved Fukuoka! It was a good experience—with practically everything, good food, good department stores (eg. Mitsukoshi, Canal City, Daimaru Tenjin), even a good CD shop (ie. Tower Records).
This was the last city on our trip. We started in Tokyo, then went to Kamakura, Mishima, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka and Hiroshima. Fukuoka, as seen from an outside perspective, is the most vibrant. Communication is more candid, humor is more evident, people are more talkative, and there's a slight "Vegas meets Japan" vibe at night, with some of the more adult clubs' advertising.
The city is pretty and clean, a lot staff to do, near the city plenty of beautiful islands so you can enjoy scenery Public transportation REALLY good, for people who try to spend less money and see more You can also book different bus tours from Hakata station for affordable price Plenty of good restaurants, Fukuoka Tower, team Lab Fukuoka and so on
Fukuoka is a great city; one can relatively get around by walking or using their subway/bus system. The airport is literally "around the corner" only two stops away using the subway line. Relaxed and laidback like Nagasaki, it is a very inviting city.
Fukuoka
Common room was wonderful, met a lot of really interesting folks visiting the Fukuoka! Walk-in/step-in showers and bathrooms are outside of sleeping rooms, but private which was a pleasant surprise (only one person at a time!) Love that there's a curfew (12am which is more than reasonable imo) Location is conveniently near the Gion station on the Fukuoka Airport Line and a few minutes walk to Kushida Shrine and Kawabata Shopping Arcade which made it super convenient for food, sight-seeing, and shopping!
This was good for a business hotel. The room was relatively small/compact (as expected), but it had a modern look, the bed was comfortable and had a good size for two people, and the bathroom was very clean and complete with a tub. The hotel is on a quiet street, but the location is close to Hakata Station. There's also a nearby bus that takes you all the way to the International Terminal of Fukuoka Airport.
