I arrived very tired and I had only three hours to sleep until the next flight. At the entrance to the hotel, an inspection and they asked me to remove all the electronics from the backpack (and I have a lot of it), I was so tired and 2 hours ago I already took out everything at the airport in Goa and I began to curse for guard. Then the hotel manager came to my aid - he helped me fold all the things, fastened the lightning and reassured me. And also offered me the number of the class above without surcharge! As a result, I spent these three hours in a beautiful room. The staff here is super responsive and caring, I did not expect this! I recommend this hotel! Before entering the airport, international sorties are literally 15 minutes. But from terminal 1 I got to the terminal 2, where the hotel was 45 minutes, as there was a huge line for transfer.

Stepping into the lobby was like stepping back in time. The 1920s-inspired interiors — rich Art Deco detailing, exquisite architecture, and carefully curated artwork — spoke of a bygone era of glamour and sophistication. Every corner reflected thought, taste, and sheer style, offering an immersive experience that felt both grand and intimate. The people of the Fairmont, however, made our stay truly unforgettable. From the driver and doorman to the front desk, concierge, spa team, and restaurant staff — every single person was at our beck and call, anticipating our needs before we even voiced them. Special thanks go to Executive Sous Chef Kaustubh Chavan and Sous Chef Vishal Shetty, who not only delighted us daily with their culinary artistry but also surprised us with a beautiful farewell cake at our last breakfast. Poolside, Sonny and Ankit took such great care of us, ensuring our moments of relaxation were nothing short of perfect. The dining was, in a word, spectacular. Across six live kitchens, the chefs showcased flavours from around the world, sourcing rare ingredients and presenting them with creativity and flair. Every meal felt like an event, every plate a masterpiece.

We only stayed for one night, but really enjoyed this hotel! It’s just a 5-minute drive from Terminal 2, which was super convenient for our early flight. We were pleasantly surprised to get a complimentary upgrade — the room was a few categories up from what we booked! It was very clean, modern, and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of dishes — definitely more than your average hotel buffet. The staff were also incredibly attentive and helpful throughout our short stay. Wish we could’ve stayed longer — highly recommend if you need a place near the airport!

Mumbai is a vibrant and bustling city, at times claustrophobic and not for the faint hearted. However, it is well a worth a visit and a unique experience. Fort in particular is a lovely area. It's easy to get by on the metro, with a new line being added that goes from the airport to the centre. Otherwise, uber is your best bet for an affordable taxi. The city is very loud and busy and there is not really a quieter area. But this is all part of the charm! We liked eating at anna idli and 100% veg thali restaurants. We also went to aram for a vada pav - must try in Mumbai!

I grew up in Mumbai.
I grew up in Mumbai. Lots of fond memories. Great city with great work culture, nice shopping, restaurants, reasonable weather. Infrastructure is a dampener but the Mumbai spirit is helpful, indomitable and never gives up. My favourite place in Mumbai is Bandra. It has glamour, the sea, lovely quaint Christian bungalows that builders have always been trying to acquire, lovely eating and drinking places, great bookshops, a super cool attitude and a generally friendly and helpful public.

Good and Bad.
Good and Bad. Wealth and poverty clearly evident but we only had one night at the hotel on our way home. Initially stayed further south when we arrived and were booked there for our last night by the travel agent which made no sense so booked this hotel via Booking.com and a great move on our part only 15mins from the airport.

We liked the resilience of the people surrounded by incredible poverty with little or no facilities having to endure life in a very highly polluted area of the world. We will never recommend any of our family members or friends to visit.
