Midtown East probably isn't the most romantic location NY has to offer but it's a very safe one, even late at night, and that's definitely a big plus. The staff was very helpful and the rooms are pretty spacious and very clean. We had a nice view of Top of the Rock from our room. The windows also blocked most of the noise coming from the busy nearby avenues. The bathrooms are equipped with hi-tech "Japanese" toilets - this was my first close encounter with one of these and now I totally want one in my home bathroom as well :)
