Set within 300 metres of Manbo Beach and 18 km of Pine Garden, The Moment Hotel Hualien by Lakeshore provides rooms in Shunan. Lots to like. Clean, comfortable. We put our family of 7 in a room that sleeps 8. Shared bathroom was super clean with private stalls and toilets. They also had a dog hotel for around $30 a night for the pooch. Had a fully stocked kitchen that we did not use but looked amazing.

Set in Hualien City, 3.1 km from Pine Garden, Champ De Rose Hotel features views of the city. Location was extremely convenient, right outside Hualien train station. The bed was comfortable. There were provisions for both standing shower and bathtub. Good amenities and a roof garden/relaxation area.

Hualien Tourism Sugar Factory Hotel has free bikes, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Guangfu. I really enjoyed my stay there. A traditional Japanese-style house for myself. I loved soaking in a Japanese-style bath. Breakfast was rustic but delicious. Nothing fancy and may not be for everyone, but it was a great experience! (As a Japanese, it reminded me of my grandma's old house.)

Great staff, perfect location as the hotel is very close to the night market and the beach and the room was perfect, I even had a private balcony. I would have stayed one more night but the hotel was fully busy.
