Located in a valley surrounded by trees, Terra Nostra Garden offers elegantly decorated rooms. Next to the Terra Nostra Botanical Park, it features indoor and outdoor pools. The room was spacious , clean and comfortable. The 24 hrs access to the hot spring pools was fantastic. We had the pools to ourselves after 5 pm. We ate sushi one night and it was delicious. Parking was easy and convenient. They allowed us to keep our entrance to gardens and hot spring after check out and even gave us a new robe and towels.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Grounds are beautiful with a banana plantation behind the hotel. Free bananas and free pastries on site. Amazing gourmet breakfast with complimentary mimosa. Amazing and welcoming staff who offered complimentary welcome drinks, upgraded our room to a room with a private courtyard, allowed late check out and it offered an honesty bar. Miguel was wonderful! Comfortable bed. Actual walk up rate can be $500 a night in high season. More than a place to sleep - a cool welcoming experience.

Boasting an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre and views of sea, Alto do Forte is situated in Ponta Delgada, 16 km from Pico do Carvao. Very well located right in the centre of Ponta Delgada and with a private garage (a big bonus in the city!), the stay was very peaceful and relaxing. The apartment was spotless clean and had everything I needed to enjoy a couple of days - the access to the spa was a bonus after a long day exploring the island. The outdoor pool looked great for warmer days. The bed and pillows were the most confortable I have slept in for a long time. The staff was extremely responsive and helpful and the breakfast had a variety of options to choose from. I will definitely come back when in São Miguel!

Situated in Ponta Delgada, 13 km from Pico do Carvao, NINE DOTS Azorean Art Boutique Hotel features accommodation with free bikes, private parking, a garden and a terrace. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms are very comfortable. Location was perfect, in the center so easy to walk around and access. Breakfast was nice and freshly made. The bar makes great cocktails! Staff were super friendly and really made my stay. Front of house helped me organize some trips and spots to visit in the nearby area. But staff in all areas were great and very welcoming. Felt safe and well looked after, which was nice as I was traveling by myself.
