The view outside and overall atmosphere is just from the movies. It has absolutely everything you need. Also, on one of the days I had a running event at 5 AM, so they prepared me in advance an amazing custom breakfast on a wood table. 🙌

The location is excellent: just next to the farmers' market, loads of restaurants in the vicinity, and a large supermarket opposite of the hotel (which opens at 7.30 am). This hotel offers the best of both worlds: you have a self-catered apartment (with a kitchen that's fully equipped and a living that's perfect to relax in after a day of hiking and sightseeing) but with all the benefits of a hotel (immaculate service, daily housekeeping, a restaurant and a great rooftop terrace). Parking is just underneath the building with quite a steep ramp, but no issue with a medium-sized (rental) car.

View is amazing, food was great (breakfast & bar), very clean. Staff is really nice and helpful. Although the hotel was fully booked, it didn’t feel crowded at all. Very calm and lovely atmosphere. Perched on a cliff facing the Atlantic Ocean, this design hotel is within a renovated traditional farmhouse. The staff and the facilities provided were really good. They also provide organized hikes with drop and pickups.

The newly renovated 4-star Hotel Baía Azul is ideally situated a 4-minute walk from Funchal’s beachfront. sea view, room was clean and spacious (especially appreciated the small daily gifts like desserts and fresh fruit), the location is very convenient — close to the natural pools and Funchal city center, with plenty of great restaurants nearby.

Located close to Funchal’s city centre, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Meliã Madeira Mare offers free WiFi, an indoor and outdoor pool and a spa. I love the location. It was amazing view of the ocean and wonderful walking around the area. The staffs are great and so helpful.
