The Moorland Hotel, Haytor, Devon - The Coaching Inn Group features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Haytor. Fabulous location - the moor was just across the road, with moorland ponies, sheep and lambs grazing within metres of the gate daily (April). Fantastic menu - particularly breakfast - kippers with a poached egg was my favorite - with greek yoghurt with berry coulis and chia, pepitas and prunes. Dinner menu was good - but breakfast was exceptional. Beds excellent. Staff a delight - felt like a local - genuine, warm, funny, engaging. Lounge was premium - very well done. Bar robust and cosy. Plenty of powerpoints for laptops.
