Set in Chugchilán, Hostal Doña Clarita Inn features accommodation with a public bath and an open-air bath. Great value. We had a two-level, two-bed room with dinner and breakfast for about $38. It was very clean and spacious. Nice common area with a stove to dry clothes and tea and banana bread and cookies. Good food. They were really helpful when we realized one of the dogs hanging around was actually owned by the owner of the hostel we stayed at in Sigchos. They took care of him until his owner showed up.

This is an elegant boutique hotel. The outside is deceiving but inside is tasteful with rooms surrounding an inner courtyard. The suite we stayed in was wonderful - spacious, clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated and furnished. The staff, and Andrea in particular, are excellent - attentive and doing what they can to make sure the stay is a success. The breakfast was nice with fresh juice, fruit, and eggs made to order. The location is walkable and felt safe even coming back in the early evening. Plenty of restaurants close by as well as various historic buildings. Lots of little touches that showed concern for guest well being.
