Villa ao Mar offers accommodation set in Santa Maria, 200 metres from Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows and Nazarene Church. This is the perfect place to enjoy the beach and town of Santa Maria. A few years ago we visited Sal and noticed Villa ao Mar when walking along the beach, we kept it in mind for future trips as it looked like an incredible spot to stay. It didn't disappoint. We would have loved an apartment with a view of the beach, but they were already booked for our dates. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment on the third floor facing the street, and still had a view of the beach from our apartments' rooftop terrace, which we had private access to! The roof top is a great spot for sun bathing and watching the sunset. Even though it is super central, a block from the main strip of Santa Maria with many shops, bars and restaurants, it was a lovely and quiet accommodation. We have a toddler, and love the beach, but didn't want to have to walk far. This was perfect, there is a walkway through the building with beach access. The customer service of staff was fantastic, super friendly and helpful, both pre arrival and throughout our stay. They provided us with a cot, high chair and kitchen ware for our child which was really appreciated. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed to cater for ourselves and was spacious for the three of us. They also offer a laundry service for a fee which we took advantage of. The accommodation exceeded our expectations and we were really happy with our choice. We plan to stay here again in future and will book well in advance to secure one of the ocean facing apartments.

The property was really well supplied with a beautiful pool and great porch. The location is great, a 5 minute walk to the beach and near restaurants/bars and supermarkets. Balzhas, the owner, was amazing! He made us feel completely at home, sent us lots of recommendations, came over with treats for us, and made sure we had everything we needed for the stay. I could not compliment him more if I tried.

We liked everything 👍 The apartment was clean with spacious 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen has all essentials, what you need, even for a longer stay. The location is perfect, one block from the main pedestrian street and all restaurants 🍝 The pool on the roof terrace has amazing views⛱️ over the town⛪️.

Very comfortable bed and lovely outside seating area for the couple of nights we stayed in. The location was excellent, 5 minutes walk to main strip of bars and restaurants and the beautiful beach. Staff on reception were lovely especially Tyson.

It was big. Well equipped if you wanted to cook. Nice big fridge and a small freezer, more than adequate. The door lock was great as it was coded, no keys to loose. The pool is big and clean and safe, enough loungers for the guests that were there, but it was very quiet so it may be an issue if the property was busier.
