Incredible property. Wonderful rooms and facilities. Should have stayed longer! Spa, pool and views were amazing. Definitely recommend coffee tour and tasting. Staff super friendly and helpful. It's the baby of a CR artist who bought the land in the 80s. His artist friends all wanted to come and visit, so he had to make more room. All by himself and his friends. And then more artists from all over came, helped with the build and left their mark everywhere- murals, sculpures, whatever. And I have this from the horse's mouth, as we had the privilege to meet both the owner and his grandson in person. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall back then...And the drive up there is amazing as well. This place is mindblowing.

Set within lush tropical gardens just a 20-minute drive from San José Airport, Hotel Bougainvillea San José offers a large outdoor pool, tennis courts and a gym. Delicious breakfast. The large natural area is amazing with many bird species. Dining staff were helpful. Grounds staff showed us an Owl and told us about a tree.
