This is a very plush hotel set right beside the castle. The hotel is very modern but has been done sympathetic to its surroundings. Everything is spotless and the staff are excellent. The beds were supremely comfortable.

Very friendly hosts, you'll get not only help, but also some history lessons about Portugal, recommendations what to visist and where to eat. Very spacious, modern and clean room. Perfect breakfast. The welcome was lovely. The location - extremely quiet with fantastic views and ample on-site outdoor parking with no height restrictions. The rooms were spacious and clean with a huge outdoor terrace area. There was an on-site restaurant and bar. I would recommend both the food and wine as they were both fantastic. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially the young waiter in the restaurant who couldn't have been any more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and definitely good value for money.

Most rooms are spatious, not fancy but everything functional, tidy, and clean. Windows have the traditional exterior plastic drapes that are the perfect blinds if you wish to have a dark room even during the day. There’s a vending machine in the corridor with hot and cold at economical prices. The hotel has free private parking, something you wouldn’t find in those located in the centre. So, although it’s not a design hotel or anything near it, this hotel is perfectly suited for any peaceful stay.
