The Elopura Hotel located on the East Coast of Sabah which also known as “Land below the Wind”. Elopura name itself was the first name of Sandakan when it was found by William B Pryer back in 1879.

The location is superb and it's a fascinating hotel filled with film trivia and memorabilia. The view from the room was excellent, overlooking the sea and it was very comfortable. The breakfast was basic, but there was the bonus of an egg station to have your eggs cooked to order.

Situated in Sabah, The Pavilion Hotel is just a 5-minute drive from Sandakan Airport. The hotel also offers a daily buffet breakfast and rooms with free wired internet access.

Hotel Sandakan is situated in the city centre, only 200 metres from the Sulu seafront. It features two restaurants and offers free Wi-Fi and on-site parking.

Friendliness of all staff. Size of room. Breakfast variety. Location was excellent.

1. Michael was waiting for us outside the 99 SpeedMart convenience store. He was prepared to drive us to the accommodation when we texted him prior that we were taking a grab. However we changed our mind and hired a car instead. Nevertheless Michael led us to the accommodation. 2. Recommend to hire a car as it appears public transport is not accessible. Although it is convenient to call a Grab or Maxim, they may not be available/reliable. We had a booking cancelled and another cannot find us. 2. The top floor offers a great view of the sea. See attached photo - looks like Singapore's Marina Bay Sands 3. Both Lee / Michael were quick to respond when we asked something.
